Request a new unit

Modified on Tue, Dec 17 at 12:32 PM

Join more than 300 University of California academic and research units in showcasing your department's scholarly output in eScholarship!

Our institutional repository and open access publishing tools allow you to organize and display compelling content collections.

Get started now: Request a new or unclaimed unit

If your UC academic department or research unit is not yet represented on eScholarship, or if your department or research unit is unclaimed in eScholarship, you may request the eScholarship unit. If you have questions about the services we provide, or whether your planned site fits within our content guidelines, you can:

Before we can set up your new unit, the following steps are required:

  1. Complete the Terms of Service agreement (attached below): The agreement should be signed by the appropriate person, e.g. the chair of the department, director of the ORU, or faculty advisor of the student group.

Please send the entire PDF document with signature (not just the final page) to us using eScholarship Help Desk form. If there are technical barriers that make this a problem for you, please contact us and we'll work out a solution.
  2. Register eScholarship accounts: Each person who will be a site administrator for your new site, or who will want to receive statistics reports for the site via email, will need to have an eScholarship account. Visit the eScholarship account sign in page to create a new account or reset a password.
Note: Site administrators should be UC employees in permanent positions.
  3. Fill out the new unit setup form: This provides the basic information we need to create your site.

Once we have received your signed Terms of Service and completed setup form, we will create a site for the unit and contact the site administrator with links to information on how to build on and customize the new site.
