My PDF isn't viewable after publishing

Modified on Thu, Oct 21, 2021 at 12:53 PM

You may sometimes encounter an error when you check your publication in eScholarship after it has deposited or been published:

PDF.js v2.2.228 (build 228)

Message: Invalid top-level pages dictionary error

This means that the PDF of your item is still in queue to be processed by eScholarship. Once it has processed, your PDF should be displayed.

In general it takes 1-10 minutes for an item's PDF to be processed, however during times of heavy activity (such as when eScholarship ingests data from other systems during the evening and weekend hours, Pacific Time) it could take up to an hour.

If it has been more than 6 hours since you deposited or published an item and it still does not display, please first try opening the eScholarship URL in a different browser or in a Private/Incognito window. If it still does not display, please contact eScholarship Support.
