Before you begin
- Ensure that every article you plan to publish has a publication-ready PDF and/or HTML files uploaded to the Current Galleys section of the Typesetting page.
- Also be sure that you have reviewed any supplemental file(s) associated with each manuscript.
The Pre-Publication stage contains an important pre-flight checklist that will help to ensure there are no mistakes with your final, published articles.
Confirm Metadata: This is your final opportunity to check that all metadata, including title, abstract, and author names are accurate.
Select an Issue: Assign your article to an issue - be sure that you only assign the article to a single issue. If the issue you want to add the article to is not listed, you will have options near the bottom of the Select an Issue screen to create one.
Select a Galley for Rendering: This step is to confirm that you have only one PDF (for PDF-only publishing) or one HTML file and one PDF (for HTML publishing with PDF download).
Set a Publication Date: Setting the publication date that should appear in the article's metadata. Note that if you set this date in the future, the article will fail to publish when you select the final Publish button - unless you wait to do so until that future date has arrived or passed.
Publish the Article: Once you have completed all Pre-Publication checklist items, you have two options for final publication:
Select the green Publish this Article button: This will result in the immediate publication of the article.
Note that if you set this date in the future, the article will fail to publish when you select the final Publish button - unless you wait to do so until that future date has arrived or passed.
In some cases, the article may take several minutes to appear publicly.
If you wish to publish all articles in the issue at the same time, hold off on selecting Publish this Article. You will want to wait until all articles in the issue are ready for publication, then select Publish this Article for every article in the issue.
